Old Barn Resort was a great accidental find for us.  As we planned this part of the trip we were struggling to find places to camp near LIW sites.  Using Campendium, one of the apps we use to find campgrounds, we found The Old Barn Resort.  It is a beautiful place with a restaurant, a pool, golf, and access to a river for tubing.  While we only took advantage of the pool and restaurant if we are ever in the area again we will definitely return.

Some days the road is not kind.  Today just ahead of us on Interstate 35 W there was a terrible accident.  What should have been a trip of 2 1/2 hours turned into 5.  We are extremely blessed that we were only inconvenienced and not one of the folks who were taken away in helicopters. Prayers to them and those that love them.  After sitting still on the interstate for a couple hours we both turned our vehicles around and drove the wrong way back to a crossover where we were guided by police to merge into the lanes going back south.  It took a lot for my rule following self to go the wrong way on an interstate!  We then followed the detour to get around the accident and continue on our way.

Here is a picture of the accident once traffic was allowed through again.  Notice the back-up on the southbound side.  That is because authorities closed a lane so that we could safely merge into southbound traffic.

Once all of that unpleasantness was behind us we made it to Ellen and Rick Crichton's Home.  Ellen works with Kenny.  We had a much needed adult beverage and a lovely dinner.  We were joined by an additional colleague, Molly Tomczak.   We appreciate their generous hospitality!

Ellen and Rick live on a hill which we managed to get the RV up.  Getting it back down proved to be a much more difficult task which is a story for tomorrow's blog.
