A Ride Around Sanibel Island

 2.22.2024

Sanibel Island

A year ago Sanibel Island wasn't accessible due to the damage from Hurricane Ian.  Today we were able to drive across the causeway to access the island.  There is still much construction around the bridges.

The traffic was similar to rush hour in NOVA, but we finally made it to a community park where we could park.  We rode along part of the bike path that circles the island.  There is lots of construction going on across the island.  Some businesses are open.  Many are still empty with for sale signs.

Along the way we stopped by a beautiful beach.  We walked a bit and took a few pictures.

On the way back across the causeway Kenny took pictures of the water and Fort Myers.

We made it home in time for a last beautiful sunset at WP Franklin Campground.  It is definitely one of our favorites.  We hope to be back in 2026!
