Meeting up with friends who are also RVers is always fun. This weekend Tim and Tracy Kersey joined us in Ocala. Friday night was very rainy so we got carry out and introduced Tim to Skipbo. On Saturday we drove north to visit Payne's Prairie Preserve.
We climbed the observation tower to get a great view of the grasslands.
It is a beautiful place with wide open grasslands where wild horses and bison roam. We saw the horses, unfortunately, the bison were hiding somewhere else in the 22,000 acres of the preserve.
We hiked through the old growth forest.
There were beautiful trees and palmettos.
There was even a Bald Eagle sitting on a nest.
We drove to the lake section of the park and walked along the boardwalk before returning to the truck to escape the wind.
Oliver, one of their dogs, was not impressed with our night of Skipbo once we made our way back to the RVs.
