Miles: 225
After saying goodbye to Erin and Wall-e we left home around 8 and encountered a bit of fog on our way through Fredericksburg. We took a very familiar route, 17 to 15 north to Frederick, Maryland. Maryland was our first state line crossing.
We met Kenny's brother, Bob, and his wife, Ruth, for lunch.
And that is where the first of I hope very few traffic jams began. Interstate 70 was closed and we were routed off and around before rejoining 70. Many prayers to those involved. This added 2.5 hours to our trip. We made a brief stop at a rest area to stretch our legs and a stop to dump the tanks, get fuel, and disconnect. About an hour later we made it to our first Harvest Host, a program we subscribe to that allows overnight parking for self-contained RVs. 1812 Brewing is outside Cumberland, MD on some very narrow twisty mountain roads which was the reason we disconnected near the interstate.
The brewery is celebrating Motleyfest tonight. Based on our assumptions and growing-up in the 80's we were a bit surprised to hear a banjo and harmonica as we walked toward the stage. We enjoyed a seltzer, beer, and baked potato before returning to the rig for some much needed chillout time. Our goal is to be parked by 3:30, but with the back-up on 70 it was close to 6 before we pulled in to our spot for the evening.
Comet did great both in the RV and when just the two of us were in the truck.
Tomorrow we cross a bit of West Virginia (state 2) and stay in Ohio (state 3).
