Gros Ventre Campground, Grand Teton National Park
Mileage: 3584
We started this morning early by closing up the RV, getting gas, and heading into Yellowstone for one last hike.
The Fairy Falls Trail has an overlook for Grand Prismatic. It is about a mile in with only the last tenth of a mile being steep. We enjoyed seeing a few birds along the way. I think these are grouse. How many do you see in the picture?
When we first got to the top of the hill we were completely fogged in. We waited for about half an hour and the sky cleared. While we were waiting we met a gentleman who lived on the Northern Neck when he was much younger.
Grand Prismatic is between us. A nice lady offered to take our picture.
We then drove south through Yellowstone and had lunch at Grant. We encountered some construction but eventually exited Yellowstone. Grand Tetons is only about 30 miles south of Yellowstone. The drive was easy and very pretty.
Our first views of the Grand Tetons were amazing!
After checking in to our campground, Gros Ventre which is in the park. We are crossing our fingers we will see Moose here, they are supposed to like to come to the river. We then went to The Visitor's Center in Moose to talk to a ranger to come up with a plan for the next two days.
Jackson, WY is a very cute tourist town with a center square with antler arches on each corner. We had dinner and then wandered around town a bit before heading home.
Comet likes to hang out on the end of Kenny's recliner in the evenings.
