Sedona Arizona and a Pink Jeep Tour

 10.1.2023

Mileage: only the truck

Flagstaff KOA

Sedona Arizona

I honestly think Sedona is one of the most beautiful places on earth.  We started from Flagstaff and dropped over 3,000 feet in less than 30 miles.  Actually, following 89A we drove down a winding road that dropped thousands of feet in less than a couple of miles.  You notice that we came home a different way.  We didn't want to drive that road after dark.

Once we were down out off the mountain the road follows a creek bed with amazing green foliage.

The green then gives way to the red rocks.

The red rocks, blue sky, and green trees is an amazing explosion of color.  Couple that with amazing rock formations and you'll see why we took lots, and lots, and lots of pictures here.  Once we drove through town we stopped at several scenic over looks and hiked a bit to get near the base of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte.

We then drove back into town for lunch.  We ate at Creekside Bistro.  The food was good and the view amazing.

Parking is at a premium.  We found a free lot then hiked to the Pink Jeep office for our tour.

I've always wanted to do a Pink Jeep Tour.  We chose the Coyote Canyon Tour because it was only three jeeps out of five on the bumpy scale.  Even so our insides were jostled but the scenery and the laughs were definitely worth it!

Our guide, Chris, was great.

Yucca

Prickly Pear Cactus

Chris took a bunch of these photos all with slightly different scenery behind us.  I took some out but figured I'd let you pick the one you like best.

The road leads to an old homestead cabin.  I guess mules could get there much better than modern cars can.  It definitely would have been a bumpy ride in a wagon.

We chose the latest tour of the day so that we would be out during golden hour.  The light added to the view.

Comet was happy to see us when we got home!
