Kenny and I have always loved to travel. This blog follows our adventure in our 32 foot RV as we crisscross the US. After I retired in 2021 we were able to take longer trips as Kenny works remotely.

International Crane Foundation and Ishnala Supper Club
While Kenny worked I visited the International Crane Foundation. It is the only place in the world where all 15 types of cranes exist. The foundation works worldwide to bring cranes back from extinction and into their natural habitat. The most successful example of this is the Whooping Crane. In 1973 the Whooping Crane was down to a mere 21 birds. There are now over 800 in the wild. While still a perilous number there has been significant progress.
I took a stroll on DeeDee's Wetland Trail. There were several other trails to explore.
I enjoyed a talk from one of the zoologists who work with the cranes.
Dinner tonight was at a Wisconsin Supper Club. There are no reservations so we enjoyed a beverage and cheese curds while we waited. I had the traditional Brandy Old Fashioned which was delicious. Kenny had a beer. We walked down to the beach area along Mirror Lake and waited for our table.
The meal that followed was delicious and very traditional old steakhouse with cheese and crackers, a salad, and a potato with the main course.
Here is Comet on the webcam Kenny set-up so we can see him in the RV while we are out.
A couple notes to myself on this post. . . . if taking pictures and video on very similar birds make sure to label them as you go. I did my best to match-up names with pictures and video, but it may not be a perfect match. 😅
