While Kenny worked, Rockford, IL had one more place I wanted to visit before leaving, Laurent House. This home is the only place Frank Lloyd Wright designed specifically for a person living in a wheel chair. As with many FLW designs this one has undergone extensive renovation. The home is now back to its original glory with clean lines, Cherokee Red floors, and a beautiful setting.
After touring the beautiful home I ventured on to Wisconsin (state #8). Kenny went ahead of me to work in a Walmart parking lot. We then made it to our destination for the night, the lovely home of my college roommate, Michele and her husband Soren.
We had a great dinner at one of their favorite places nearby and called it a night.
